SummerFest- July 2022

To celebrate the founding of Morgan’s Point Resort in 1970, the city hosted a free event at Kleypas Park on July 3, 2022.  Highlights included bouncy houses for the kids, a dunk tank (to keep you cool), musical entertainment by the Billy Holt Band, Fire Base Brewery, food trucks (Lulamae’s Cajun Cuisine, Mi Lindo Nayarit Taqueria and Kona Ice of Waco) and good old fashion 4th of July games like Corn Hole.  And to pull at our patriotic heart strings, we had a beautiful Falcon Fly-over.  To top off the evening, Kleypas Park was a great place to watch the fireworks, courtesy of #freedompointtx.  The event was a volunteer effort headed by the committee’s Chairman, James Snyder.   Thank you, Jimbo, for spearheading our very FIRST SummerFest.  Our MPR Family looks forward to 2023!
