As the EDC reviews these ideas, we want to understand how residents feel about them. This survey is one part of the information we’ll use as we develop the full Workplan, and your feedback helps us see what matters most to the community.

The EDC will also select one $30,000 priority project of its own, which will be included alongside the Council’s submission in the final Workplan.

This page provides the full descriptions of the Council‑submitted project options. Your input is a meaningful part of our overall research and helps guide the EDC as we evaluate which project should move forward.

Below are the full descriptions of each project under consideration. After reviewing them, please return to the survey and select the project you believe should be the top priority for inclusion in the 2026 Workplan.

1. Ansay Park Pavilion

Ansay Park is one of Morgan’s Point Resort’s most frequently used neighborhood parks, but it currently lacks shaded gathering space for families, seniors, and small community activities. This project would fund the design and construction of a small pavilion or shade structure with picnic tables. The pavilion would support birthday parties, family gatherings, youth activities, and informal community use. It would also improve comfort and usability during hot weather. This is a modest, high‑impact improvement that enhances a park many residents already enjoy.

2. Decentralized Septic System Feasibility Study

As Morgan’s Point Resort continues to grow, the City must understand what future wastewater options are realistic and affordable. This project would fund a professional feasibility study evaluating whether decentralized septic or cluster systems could support future development, reduce strain on existing systems, or provide alternatives in areas where traditional septic is challenging. The study would include site analysis, cost ranges, regulatory considerations, and long‑term maintenance implications. This is a planning‑focused project that helps the City make informed infrastructure decisions.

3. Neighborhood Communication Digital Sign

Residents consistently express a desire for better communication about city events, emergency notices, closures, and community activities. This project would fund the purchase and installation of a digital communication sign at a key entry point into the city. The sign would allow the City to share timely updates, promote events, and improve visibility of important information. This project focuses on transparency, communication, and resident engagement.

4. Event Center Curbside Appeal Improvements

The Morgan’s Point Resort Event Center is used for community events, rentals, meetings, and gatherings, but its exterior appearance does not reflect its importance to the community. This project would fund landscaping, parking lot, and exterior improvements to enhance curb appeal and make the facility more welcoming. This project supports community pride and increases the Event Center’s appeal for both residents and renters.

5. Upper Marina Activation – Phase 1A Feasibility & Conceptual Design Package

The Upper Marina is currently an undeveloped area with only the old storage trailers remaining. This project would fund a full feasibility and conceptual design package to explore future activation of the site. Phase 1A would include a site plan, septic‑friendly layout options, circulation analysis, cost ranges, and conceptual renderings. The study would evaluate possibilities such as a small pavilion, food‑truck court, primitive camping, and improved gathering space. This planning phase would prepare the City for future grant applications and guide long‑term development of a lake‑oriented community amenity.

6. Four Corners Curb Appeal/Business Grants:

The EDC will establish a voluntary matching grant program for commercial property owners/business owners (including but not limited to the following projects: Facade refresh, fence replacement or repair, parking lot resurfacing or striping, landscaping and planters, trash enclosures (upgrades), signage, removal or blight or debris or ADA compliance.

Next Step After reviewing these project descriptions, please return to the survey and select the project you believe should be the EDC’s top priority for inclusion in the 2026 Workplan.

Link to survey: What Should MPR EDC Work on Next? – Fill out form

Survey Deadline: January 10, 2026

Link to survey: What Should MPR EDC Work on Next? – Fill out form Survey Deadline: January 10, 2026 What project feels right for MPR? As part of preparing the 2026 Workplan, City Council has recommended several project ideas over the … Continue reading →

["post-3991","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
