The Auxiliary has been supporting the community and it fire fighters for 49 years, and we could not continue to do what we do without support of people like yourselves.\u00a0 Join us for a romantic night of dinner, dancing, silent auction, live auction and our GRAND PRIZE. Extra tickets for the Grand Prize drawing are available for punches prior to the event along with during the Ball.<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For tickets and event information, click <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eventcreate.com\/e\/mprlavalentinesball2023\">here<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/h5>\n<p><strong>MPR Fire Department History<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Morgan&#8217;s Point Resort Fire Department was founded in 1974 by Mr. Luther J. Reynolds as an all-Volunteer Department along with other concerned citizens of the community. The department started with one truck and five members. Over the years, the department grew with City.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Volunteers held many fundraisers to purchase needed equipment.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The department remained All Volunteer until May of 2005 when the City hired the first paid Chief, Billy Richards. Chief Richards took over the department with ten active members. He began a recruiting drive to bring more members into the volunteer program. As membership grew, the emphasis was turned toward the EMS First Responders and their training. Today, the department consists of volunteers and paid firefighters that continue to support our great city.<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;We rely a great deal upon the generosity of the community to maintain excellence in service, opportunities that would not have been possible without charitable contributions.
